Solo Rescue® Plus

Representing a natural evolution of decontamination.

Raising the standard in firefighter decontamination

Solo Rescue® Plus is built on our proven technology, representing a natural evolution of our previous system. While the core cleaning performance remains central, the focus has been on creating a more intuitive and consistent user experience.

The new machine cleans more efficient than our current ones. Most gear gets clean after only six minutes, and for the really dirty ones a 12-minute programme gives excellent results. We’ve also seen significantly lower detergent consumption, maybe 40 to 50 per cent less, which could save us around 200,000 to 250,000 SEK per year Phill Hall of RSNV Fire Academy, Sweden, a Solo Rescue user since 2013.

Dual wash system – Enhanced cleaning angles

The dual wash system has been developed with repositioned nozzles and a new nozzle design, ensuring improved spray coverage inside the machine. The primary spray pattern continues to come from the sides, as in previous generations, but with optimized spray angles for enhanced cleaning performance. In addition, the system sprays from both above and below, creating a more comprehensive wash process and a higher removal rate of contaminants. For added flexibility, the lower spray function can be deactivated when needed. This is particularly beneficial when cleaning items such as gloves and boots, where preventing water ingress is important to maintain performance and integrity.

Intuitive control with fully customizable wash programs

With the introduction of a redesigned and more intuitive interface, the system is built to simplify everyday operation while giving users greater control and flexibility. The resistive touchscreen is designed for reliable use in demanding environments and can easily be operated while wearing gloves, ensuring smooth and practical handling during daily operations.

The system now includes four fully customizable wash programs, allowing departments to adapt decontamination routines to their specific operational needs and preferences. This provides a more tailored workflow while maintaining consistency, ease of use, and operational efficiency across different scenarios.

These updates are focused on improving usability and creating a more intuitive user experience, supporting safer and more efficient day-to-day operation.

The hidden advantage of a smaller wash tank design

The system features a relatively small but highly efficient
wash tank, designed to optimize both performance and resource use. The reduced tank volume results in lower water consumption, while also enabling faster fill times, quicker heating, and more efficient water exchange during draining and refilling cycles. A key advantage of this compact design is the reduced detergent usage, as the system requires significantly less cleaning solution due to the smaller overall water volume. This not only improves operational efficiency but also contributes to lower running costs over time.

Filter flow warning system

The Solo Rescue® Plus features a built-in filter flow warning system when used in combination with a Rescue Intellitech filter system. During installation, a flow rate threshold (litres per minute) can be configured to determine when filter replacement is required. If the flow rate drops below the set level, indicating reduced filtration efficiency, the system automatically triggers a warning icon in the HMI interface. This ensures timely maintenance and helps maintain stable cleaning performance over time.

Precise control for consistent cleaning results

Having a built-in drain pump simplifies installation and ensures reliable water management in any station environment, allowing the system to operate efficiently without dependence on external drainage conditions. Combined with four integrated dosing pumps, the system enables precise and flexible chemical control throughout the wash cycle. Users can independently dose detergent, switch between a second detergent or machine cleaning agent, apply defoamer when needed, and add rinse aid for optimal finishing results. This level of control supports consistent cleaning performance, improved process reliability, and reduced manual handling in daily operations.

Cancer – the Number One Cause of Death Among Firefighters

According to numerous studies cancer is the number one cause of death among firefighters. In North America cancer caused 61% of the career firefighter line-of-duty deaths from January 1, 2002, to March 31, 2017. Firefighters also run a 9% higher risk of being diagnosed with cancer and a 14% higher risk of dying from cancer than the general population.

How to clean your PPE equipment

In order to minimize the risk for firefighters of being diagnosed with cancer we need to minimize their exposure to cancer causing toxic chemicals such as PAH particles. One way of doing that is trough thorough cleaning and decontamination of the PPE equipment. There are a few things to always bare in mind while doing so.
